Learning Disability Pride – we are proud of who we are!

"People with learning disabilities have been kept out of community life in the past. Not any more. We are going to ordinary schools with our brothers and sisters, we live in our own homes, have jobs and do a lot for our communities.

There is still a lot to be done to make life better for some of us, but we want to celebrate all we have achieved."

This week (15th-30th June 2019) people with learning disabilities and their allies are taking part in a variety of actions to celebrate Learning Disability Pride (#LDPride).

In particular, we love the idea of the wonderful team at My Life My Choice who, in a similar way to our #fragileXtraordinary campaign, shared images on their social media highlighting their proud achievements! We have included some examples below, but you can see them all here.

If you would like to join in and do the same, we have created a sheet which you can print off and fill in, then take a photo with it to share online! You can share using #LDPride with us on our Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. You can download it here or by pressing the image below!
