A Proud Moment for Rhys

We were absolutely delighted to hear this wonderful news from one of our families and are so pleased to be able to share it with our community.

Rhys, alongside Owen, trains twice a week with the Manchester United Foundation, showing real commitment and enthusiasm for football. Last year, Rhys was selected to represent the Foundation at the Genuine Cup in Houston, Texas an incredible and truly once in a lifetime opportunity.

The Genuine Cup brings together teams from across the world, celebrating inclusive football and giving young people the chance to compete on an international stage. Rhys and his team played against 39 other teams from a wide range of countries, making their achievement even more special.

We are incredibly proud to share that the team secured an outstanding 3rd place finish. This is a fantastic accomplishment and reflects not only Rhys’s hard work and determination, but also the supportive environment created through the Manchester United Foundation.

Moments like this mean so much, not just for the individual, but for families and the wider Fragile X community. It is inspiring to see young people being given opportunities to thrive, build confidence, and enjoy such memorable experiences.
