European Fragile X Awareness Day, 2014

European Fragile X Awareness day is held every year on 10th October (X.X!), but this Fragile X Awareness Day was bigger and better than ever before!

We asked families to share posts with us on social media celebrating their loved ones affected by fragile X. We were overwhelmed and inspired by the number of posts shared from all around the world. On twitter alone our hashtag was used over 1500 times and reached over half a million people! Hundreds of people also joined in on facebook.

Below is a summary of all of the fabulous awareness raising activity! Click on the link to skip to the section

Flash Mob

A group of approximately 35 volunteers, descended on London's busy King's Cross Train Station on a Friday evening to perform a specially choreographed dance, dressed in awareness day t-shirts! Thank you so much to all involved! The event drew in a great crowd and prompted lots of questions to be asked about fragile X!

Tell us something #fragileXtraordinary

Over half a million people saw posts last Friday which included our hashtag. Hundreds of people got involved with the campaign, making it a fantastic day to be part of the Fragile X community. Watch this space for an up-coming summary of the posts.
